Air Pixels · Scan-to-BIM & Site Intelligence Engine
Drone point clouds, ready for Revit.
Upload a raw drone point cloud and receive a clean, lightweight Revit-ready model with Toposolid terrain, LoD 200 building massing, automatic elevation levels and an Architectural Site Intelligence PDF Report. No ReCap, Civil 3D or CloudCompare licences, and no hours spent tracing contours by hand.
The problem
Revit can’t open what the drone delivers.
Studios fly LiDAR or photogrammetry missions, or hire a drone operator, and receive multi-gigabyte .LAS or .LAZ files that Autodesk Revit cannot natively open. Making that data usable usually means extra software licences, manually stripping trees and vehicles, decimating tens of millions of points so Revit doesn’t freeze, and 8 to 20 hours of tracing terrain contours and existing building massing.
For
Architectural studios
Existing conditions models for new builds, additions and remodels.
For
Landscape architects
Grading, slope and drainage analysis from a single flight.
For
Civil engineers
Bare-earth terrain and contours, stripped of trees and buildings.
For
Drone operators
A finished AEC handoff package for your clients.
Phase 1 deliverables
What you get back.
Every version of Autodesk Revit from 2022 through 2026 opens .IFC files with levels, walls, roofs and terrain intact. Revit’s Create Toposolid from CSV takes two clicks.
Model
IFC 4.3 model
Terrain mesh, LoD 200 building massing (extruded walls and sloped roof planes) and auto-generated levels: Grade, Eave, Ridge.
.ifc
Terrain
Toposolid points
Ground-only points, decimated to under 15,000 vertices for Revit Toposolid, with grade breaklines preserved.
.csv
Contours
3D DXF contours
1 ft minor and 5 ft major intervals (or 0.5 m metric), stripped of trees and buildings.
.dxf
Report
Site Intelligence Report
Elevation, slope, drainage, structure and cross-section analysis, ready for planners and engineers.
How it works
Six stages from raw scan to clean geometry.
01 · Ingest
CRS normalization & noise removalReads the coordinate system, moves the site to a local origin while keeping the survey point offset for Revit Shared Coordinates, and removes birds, atmospheric noise and multipath reflections.
02 · Classify
Ground vs. non-groundA Cloth Simulation Filter separates bare earth. Above-ground points are sorted into building roofs and facades or vegetation, which is stripped from the export.
03 · Terrain
Toposolid decimation & contoursFlat lawns are reduced to minimal vertices within 1 inch of elevation error, while retaining walls, curbs and ditches are kept sharp.
04 · Massing
Building & roof reconstructionRoof and wall planes are fitted, classified as flat, pitched or vertical, snapped to architectural angles and joined into watertight LoD 200 solids.
05 · Levels
Automatic datum levelsLow Site Grade, Main First Floor, Top of Plate / Eave and Roof Ridge are set from the measured geometry.
06 · Export
Native IFC 4.3Site with true GPS coordinates, terrain, and native wall, roof and slab elements tied to the generated levels.
Site Intelligence Report
A deliverable you can hand to the city.
| Page | Section | Contents |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Executive site scorecard | WGS84 & State Plane coordinates, acreage, capture date, point density, estimated vertical RMSE, Revit Survey Point translation. |
| 02 | Elevation model & contours | Color-ramped elevation map with labeled 1 ft / 5 ft contours, north arrow and scale bar. |
| 03 | Slope & grading analysis | 0–10% buildable, 10–20% moderate, 20–33% hillside ordinance zone, over 33% steep, with square footage per band. |
| 04 | Surface hydrology | Natural stormwater runoff paths and low-spot ponding risk. |
| 05 | Structure envelope & roof pitch | Perimeter dimensions, roof area, eave and ridge heights, pitch (X:12) and azimuth for every roof facet. |
| 06 | Site cross-sections | North–south and east–west elevation profiles through the site and primary structure. |

Questions
Before you fly.
How much does Scan-to-BIM cost?
Tier 1 Site & Topo Report is $49 per scan. Tier 2 Revit Scan-to-BIM Pack, with the IFC 4.3 model, is $179 per scan. Tier 3 Studio Pro Pass is $399 per month for up to 5 full exports.
Which point cloud formats are accepted?
.LAS, .LAZ, .E57 and .PLY from drone LiDAR or photogrammetry, up to 10 GB per scan, in imperial or metric units.
Do I need ReCap, Civil 3D or CloudCompare?
No. The deliverables open directly in Revit. Terrain comes in through Create Toposolid from CSV and the model through IFC import.
When will native .RVT files be available?
Native .RVT output is planned for Phase 2. Phase 1 delivers IFC 4.3, which opens in Revit 2022 through 2026 with levels, walls, roofs and terrain intact.
Will the model land in the right place?
Yes. Coordinates are moved to a local origin for Revit, and the survey point offset is stored so the model aligns with Shared Coordinates. The offset is also listed on page 1 of the report.
How large a file can I send?
Up to 10 GB per scan. For larger captures, mention it in the form and we’ll arrange the transfer.
What level of detail is the building massing?
LoD 200: extruded exterior walls and sloped roof planes with pitch and azimuth. Interior detail, windows and doors are not modeled.
